Move over sonic cleaners, there’s a new kid on the block

I have written previously about my sonic face cleaner.

It is really good and I do like it but I am lazy and therefore don’t use it as much as I should. So I was delighted to discover the Konjac sponge.

the baby sponge

It is a vegetable root, I don’t know how they get it to be spongy and solid, because I also have Konjac powder for cooking.

You only have to wet it thoroughly and gently squeeze it between your flat palms and rub it over your face and eyes. It is so gentle. They even make one for babies. You don’t need to use cleanser but you can. I use it in the morning when my face is pretty clean anyway.

I remove my make up at night with almond oil and a couple of baby wipes. The oil rebalances your skin so don’t shy away from oils even if you have oily skin. It is the best thing for your face. After a couple of days, maybe a week or two, you will notice a definite improvement in your skin using oil.

You can purchase the sponge here. They’re not cheap and postage always annoys me but this is not too much. I am looking for other sources closer to home. They are a lot cheaper than a sonic cleaner, but they only last a couple of months depending on how you treat the sponge.

I also trained my hair to only need washing twice a week, sometimes only once, with coconut oil. I applied coconut oil to my dry hair before washing, sometimes letting it sit for an hour or two and then the usual shampoo and conditioner. After a couple of weeks it too, rebalanced. I don’t use a lot of dry shampoo either but I do mainly wear my hair up so it is not being touched very often and not hanging in my face etc.

I really recommend trying oil on your face and hair, and I am really loving the sponge.
